Ritual for a Key 8-8 (2017)
Shot handheld and POV on Super 8 and Video 8, drain covers and the key to open them, are transformed into a symbiotic interplay that takes them out of their respective everyday meanings. I wanted to portray two universes that connect but somehow seem out of reach and the need, on the part of the unseen protagonist, to form a ritual to connect them.
Medallions (2016):
This was constructed as a moving painting, combining odd hanging shapes over train lines into a Frank Stella inspired motif. The composition ghosts and abstracts further with the blueish contortions of the CRT TV. This shape simplifies over time to reveal its core component: a hanging pigeon.
